Completely random teams???? Probably with syncers?? lolwut?

You lose once to a good team, you never see them again. They go on for 100 wins because they are good at the game. Why punish that????

Its a miracle to get more than 3 in a row. People at guildwars are BAD. Thats like rule number one when you're playing any matchmade game with random teammate. (Assume all teammates are bad). Throw in support/defense heavy builds, with two melee train builds (war and sin), and the gameplay becomes just as stagnant as normal pvp.

Its not fun any more. You're now literaly GRINDING the gamer title. Thanks for letting me play with bad kids all day long, and not having any chance to play with the few people that are good.

EDIT - I seriously think we should all go Necro in CB, and just make it a bspike grindfest. Just to show how much Anet messed up.

GTFO Anet. Your making this game worse.
My thoughts exactly.

The new map is a battlecry slugfest, horrible. Theres no incentive to split. if you do you get picked off as its too easy for a buffed mob to mow down loose players. If you try to outfight them without bc, it'll end in tears. The size is too small as a buffed mob can counter any split on it.

Feels like grinding RA instead of being fun. Maybe it'll get better later on in the holiday.

On the contrary, i so far found that most teams mob the morale shrine at the very beginning, so it's safe to spare one of your own group and quickly cap BC. Then the enemy mob has to either run back and recap BC, while the 4 of your teammates can easily cap their morale shrine, or rush the four of yours (having BC on them) for more morale, while one ninja can move from BC on their back to distract them or cap their morale shrine if they get engaged in a fight and run too far away.
Tried out this tactic four times, always proved to work.

Just a note: currently, the old scoring system (10 points per win) is still in effect. Tomorrow, the new point scheme (15 points per win), as noted in the update notes, will go into effect. We're sorry for any confusion caused.

EDIT: Good news: looks like we're going to update the point system today.

i just have to say, gg anet thx for your "special present"

cb is probably the event that me and my friends look forward to the most evry yr. especially so after the deletion of hb/ta. now its pretty much a joke with all this random team sht.

after having played this for about 30 games now and i realized, its even worse than ra.
just one game i have a great team and play a good game, then the next i get some random noobs and lose 20-5. at least in ra the matches are much shorter, but this, cb, is just plain torture.

i am not complaining about losing the match, but rather the fact that i am forced to play with largely brainless ppl who have no understanding of the format. with 1 person alone there is pretty much no way to carry; and when the good players are trying to win, they are completely helpless because the rest of the team acts dumb.

it will take a monumental effort for any decent player to put up with this. the old days of cb where skilled teams play against eachother in epic match ups are gone, thx to this randomized shit.

If you have team mates able to do this then more the power to you. Just seems that if you are randomising every match ( so you have no time to build a rapore with your team mates ) then having such a small map seems silly as you will more often than not find the team with bc will win such a small map by picking off people who feed the mob.

If a team mobs the bc they can pretty much cap it and cut off any chance of the other team capping both morale points. Speed buff is op in such a small arena imo.

Gee, I don't know, because random teams should be random?

This really was the next best thing after trying to stop a team from getting a successful sync the first time.

Besides, there's still the Snowball ATS.

the random team stuff is awesome. Get over it and stop bitching about it.

On a side note, my paragon is very happy at the upgrades this year's build recieved.

I'm starting to get around to the idea. But still, I will forever miss old CB.

On a side note; the sin build this year feels pretty stealthy. Don't know why

I agree with all negative comments. They wanted good, but it turned to be shit.

Random team every match? Srsly?

Also, who did selection of templates? They are so crappy, kill slow. We don't want codex builds in CB.

I agree with you that this new CB sucks hard. I also agree that it's filled with terrible players.

But I disagree that this makes it harder for a good player to win, on the contrary it should be easier than ever to carry your fail allies if you are good. Hint: Assume your allies are totally awful(they are) and adjust your decisions and playstyle to them.

The format will get boring pretty fast though since you lack the aspect from previous years where you got to know your allies and started to get some level of teamwork and coordination into your teams.

idk where you get the idea of easy to carry, especially when your team makes some dumb decisions such as rushing towars a 5v 2 and feeding pts to the other team. tell them to stop: nope, keep feeding. they wont stop until they give 20 pts to the other team.

in that kind of feeding situation, the only thing a good player can do is avoid feeding and outcap. in which case it is impossible because every1 else on the team is getting rolled. try making kills and you get rolled too, because by that time the shrine advantage alrdy belongs to the opponent.

and yes, most likely this format is done for in a couple of days. because i honestly dont know any decent player who can put up with this. at the very least, i know that none of my hb friends would want to play this

Did they fix the points yet?

It will never cease to surprise me how often the TK/Anet misses bugs. I'm sure the TK couldn't see the title being earned, but still.....how do you mess this up if you only change this little?

Crazy. Also, not being able to sync the arena or get consecs makes this arena hardly competitive and mostly boring.

R.I.P. Costume Brawl (at least the one I liked). I'll miss you...

There are a ton of bad players enjoying themselves right now. The format is quite fine without decent players.

What annoys the shit out of me is I have to tell each team how to split. And 80% of the time they don't listen. I loved have a consec team, because we all knew where we went...

If only there was some place that people who wanted to play on organized teams with each other could compete...

Oh wait. Hello GvG. :3

I like the randomness and switching teams every time. Makes consecutive losses not happen as much. Well, at least for those of us not trying to sync, and hey, maybe this will persuade the syncers to go away?! A boy can dream
